Description: The Gem Tang is considered one of "The Holy Grail" species of tangs. Gem Tangs come from Mauritius off the East Coast of Africa. They are black with striking white spots along the whole body, and they have a yellow caudal fin. Tangs are especially susceptible to disease. To help prevent disease, feed vitamin C on pellet food every day. A UV sterilizer and protein skimmer are STRONGLY recommended to keep this fish. Feed this fish a varied diet including both algae-based and meaty foods. Practice extreme caution when mixing the Gem Tang with conspecifics.
