Description: The Yellow Phantom Tetra is a very peaceful schooling fish with bright red and yellow coloration. It does best in a planted community tank with other peaceful fish such as Cherry Barbs, Amanda Tetras, Espei Rasboras, and Corydoras species. Females grow to be slightly larger than males do. Being a schooling fish, they are best kept in groups of at least 6 or more. They typically will stay in the upper middle part of the tank amongst their school. Being from South America, this fish will always appreciate tannins in the water whether its from driftwood, almond leaves, alder cones, or tannin extracts. They prefer slower moving water, so heavy flow and filtration is not recommended.
