Description: The Giraffe Catfish is a larger bottom-feeder that is brown w/ spots and whiskers. This fish originates from African Lakes and Rivers. This fish is omnivorous, eating both vegetation and meaty foods. The Giraffe Catfish is not aggressive in nature, but is predatory. Do not mix w/ fish that can fit in its mouth. This fish has a wonderful personality, and will recognize its owner. They prefer softer, finer substrate as they inhabit muddy lakes or riverbeds. As they grow larger, it is important to provide a tank w/ a larger surface area, rather than height. Large, powerful filters are recommended as this fish produces a lot of waste. Provide décor that offers shade as the Giraffe Catfish does not prefer bright lighting.
