The Ropefish is typically found in West Africa, coming from shallow rivers that are dense with plants, so it will love being added into a planted tank! This fish is nocturnal, so it will be most active at night. They can grow pretty large, but typically only reach about 16 inches in captivity. A tight fitting lid is HIGHLY recommended since Ropefish are notorious for jumping out. This fish is not very aggressive, but it will eat any fish that can fit in their mouths. It will do great with larger Characins, Cyprinids, and Synodontis. Heavier flow is recommended, as these fish prefer a highly oxygenated environment.
