Description: The Bicolor Goatfish is an excellent sand sifter. They use their barbels to search through the substrate for small crustaceans to prey upon. The anterior half of their body is deep maroon-red in color, and they have two white lines running from the head towards the yellow, posterior region. They also display iridescent, blue highlights throughout the entire body.  There is also a black, "false eye" spot on the yellow posterior half of their body to confuse predators. The Bicolor Goatfish can be found on sandy bottoms near coral reefs in the Western Pacific. This fish would be an awesome sand cleaner for larger reef and fish-only aquaria. Take caution when adding this fish to a reef tank, as they will not disturb corals but can eat the invertebrate clean-up crew. The Bicolor Goatfish should be added to a large aquarium with an aged sandbed.
