Description: The Binotatus Tang is a brown-orange fish with beige freckles on the face. This tang also sports bright blue eyes, yellow fins, and two black spots by the caudal peduncle. Originating from the Indo-Pacific, this fish can be found scraping surface algae off of rocks around seaward coral reefs. The bristle-tooth shape of their mouth makes them a wonderful algae-eater for both larger reef and fish-only aquaria. This tang will constantly graze and scrape algae off the tank walls and rocks, keeping them clean. It is best to provide this fish with ample rockwork and swimming room. Tangs are susceptible to ectoparasites, so it is recommended to utilize a protein skimmer and UV sterilizer. Feed this fish vitamin-C soaked pellets every day to help their immune system fight off disease. The Binotatus Tang can be mixed with other tangs that are in different genuses in larger aquaria; however, do not mix this fish with other bristletooth tangs to avoid aggression.
