Description: Tasseled Filefish are distinguished by its "skin-flaps" or tassels protruding from its body. This fish is light brown in color with thin, dark brown stripes running along its body. This fish originates from the Indo-Pacific, habitating weedy areas of algae off of coastal reefs in the wild. The tassels on their body, along with their light brown coloration, allows them to easily camouflage themselves in weedy areas of macroalgae. The Tasseled Filefish is extremely peaceful, and should be kept with other docile fish. This fish may be shy at first, but will readily accept any prepared foods as it establishes itself in the tank. Although this fish may eat Aiptasia, we do not recommend housing the Tasseled Filefish in a reef aquarium. It is not recommended to mix this fish with territorial, aggressive filefish and triggerfish.
