This is a dwarf species of ornamental crayfish found in lakes, streams, and rivers of Mexico and even the southern parts of the United States. These dwarf crayfish are fantastic in planted tanks, however be cautious as these crayfish are very opportunistic and can attack fish who may be slow or dwell on the bottom of your aquarium. These crayfish are very hardy and can handle a pH of 6.0-7.0 from temps of 60- 78 degrees Fahrenheit. These crayfish will eat food your other fish may have missed, however feed sinking shrimp pellets occasionally to restore any missing nutrients.
