The common name of this fish comes from its characteristics of bright white to yellow spots on its sides. Males exhibit more prominent coloration with vibrant orange fins whereas females have a muted coloration. This fish should be kept with other smaller peaceful tetras, barbs, danios, and other smaller schooling fishes. It is also quite hardy and can be used for cycling new tanks.
