This is a very popular schooling fish in freshwater aquaria. Silver Hatchets originate from the lower Amazon river basin, and are perfect for a peaceful community tank. They are surface dwelling fish that prefer dense vegetation. Silver Hatchets are known for their ability to jump out of water when startled, so a very tight fitted tank cover (with no open area) is a must. They cannot be mixed with anything aggressive or predatory.
