Native to Haiti, the Black Nasty Cichlid comes from fast flowing waterways. It is known to be one of the most aggressive cichlids, going after Parachromis species much larger than itself! Adding lots of rockwork and decorations will help disperse aggression by breaking the line of sight for the cichlid. Strong filtration is highly recommended, as these cichlids can be quite messy and will enjoy the higher flow. They will sometimes feed on algae and plants, so it is recommended to mix in a veggie pellet or flake to help vary their diet.
