Description: Archerfish are known for their ability to spit water out of the tank. In the wild, they use this adaptation to shoot insects off leaves, hence their common name. This fish originates from brackish waters in Asia, but it can adapt to freshwater conditions. The Banded Archerfish is characterized by its laterally compressed, silver body with four to five vertical, black bands along its back.
