Description: The Bella Sleeper Goby is an excellent sand-sifter for any larger reef or fish-only aquarium. This fish is constantly gulping in mouthfuls of sand to sift through the substrate for small crustaceans. The sand is then expelled through the fish's gill openings. The Bella Sleeper Goby originates from the bottoms of coastal reefs in the Western Pacific. They are characterized by their dusty pink coloration with yellow on the top of their heads. They also sport two horizontal, iridescent-blue stripes beneath their eyes. Males will develop a black chin on the dentary part of the jaw. It is recommended to keep this fish in an established, aged aquarium, as they can be difficult to keep. Be sure to provide a suitably thick sandbed and plenty of rockwork for this fish to live comfortably. A tight-fitting lid is a MUST because this fish can easily jump out of the aquarium.
